Under the name "Sona," the company started selling household cleaning products after World War II. Shortly thereafter, the company distributed car care products under the name "SONAX." The "X" in the name stands as an abbreviation for Wax. SONAX gained recognition in the 1960s. They developed car cleaning and care products for car wash facilities across Germany and for manual car care.
