History of Borgward

In 2005, Christian Borgward, grandson of the founder Carl F. W. Borgward, and the internationally renowned industrial manager Karlheinz L. Knöss decided to revive Borgward. This is to be done with a wide range of models designed and developed in Germany. According to its own statements, the company would like to offer its customers an affordable premium product in the future. The headquarters will move from Bremen to Stuttgart and will soon be available at the “CityGate”. We strive to include spare parts of comparable OE quality in our web shop as soon as possible. As soon as the first Borgward models are driving again in Germany, you will also find car parts from the former luxury brand here. We look forward to your visit to our online shop! The company was founded by the engineer Carl Friedrich Wilhelm Borgward in 1919. The company produced a wide range of vehicles and engines in Bremen under the Borgward, Hansa, Goliath and Lloyd brands. Between 1919 and 1961, more than a million vehicles left the production facilities and temporarily made Borgward the third largest car manufacturer in Germany. Up to 23,000 employees produced the group's vehicles on the Bremen assembly lines, which were sold all over the world. The best-known vehicles were the Hansa 1500, the P 100 and the Isabella, of which more than 200,000 were sold worldwide.
